The Government defines Domestic Violence as "Any incident of threatening behaviour, violence or abuse psychological, physical, sexual, financial or emotional between adults who are or have been intimate partners or family members, regardless of gender or sexuality. Domestic abuse is rarely a 'one-off' incident. Abusers generally demonstrate a pattern of abuse. In Marchthe Government extended their definition of Domestic Violence to include 16 and 17 year olds as 'adults' within the definition.
